The Seven Seals of History
The seven seals have to be removed before this scroll can be opened. So God gives Jesus the special authority to open the seals of history and to oversee its final unfolding because he died. The breaking of the first seal reveals a white horse going forth to conquer. Opening the second seal reveals a red horse signifying the end of peace. Opening the third seal reveals a black horses which points to famine. The fourth seal is a pale horse which suggests the future holds sickness and disease. As Jesus breaks these seals, John receives a vision that corresponds to the breaking of each seal. It shows for John what is going to happen in the future.
