Is There a Difference Between the English and the French Traditions?
The objects of society are of the greatest possible complexity, and therefore no simple disposition or direction of power can be suitable to man's nature. I hear the simplicity of contrivance aimed at and boasted of in any new political constitutions. And this is where aquinas really comes into view, right? Interestingly, sort of behind burke is hit. It's like light refracting through a window. R, yes, there's pure, absolute truth out there, but mankind is a mess. Life is a mess, and every age is going to bring up new challenges, new difficulties. But note that america looks forward and backward, whereas france only looks forward, right?
