Journalist Fen Montaigne spent the holidays at a scientific station in Antarctica. He says they celebrate Christmas just like we do up here in the U.S. There are thousands of researchers and support staff spread over an enormous territory. The other holiday that comes to mind is New Year's Day in Japan.
