Katami had actually scored some victories with in terms of extending a kind of olive branch to Europe. Now, katami and his sort of foreign policy people, his coalition, thought that there was possibility for kind of Repro-Shmon with the U.S. The Taliban was considered a dangerous government from the point of view of Iran. It's not like the US half a world away.

We end with the death of Zhina Mahsa Amini in the custody of morality police and the current mass protest movement that erupted in response.
