Is There a Future for the CBDC?

The Federal Reserve is trying to think through on a geopolitical level what happens if we eliminate this physical currency that people are using around the world. That's not something they want to risk by just eliminating the cash. They don't actually care about stopping money laundering or drug dealing or any of that because if you did, you would actually eliminate physical cash from the real world. So there's not necessarily an interest to get rid of the physical version.
