In 1820, Babbage made a computer. But he was too stupid to figure it out. In 1991, some engineers like had a bunch of time on their hands and they rebuilt the difference engine. And it truly turned into a classical computer. If only that in 18, whatever, Babbage had looked around for other implementations, he might have realized that the perfect one was already waiting for him.
