It Takes a Village to Lead Design

It takes a village to lead design. And i think we recognized this 20 years ago in engineering, which tended b the orgminder. Some organizations could stand to have a little more top down command an control to drive quality. What's happened in this organization is they're at some stage in their cycle where they need a shock to the system to improve quality. That shock is not going to come from the bottom up. It's too fracture. The amount of effort it would take to kind of dial up all these individual teams would be too great. But one of the benefits of hierarchies if you can wield them appropriately is to do a hopefully positive shock from the top down and say,
