The p-value is this way to say this is not by chance, right? If I treat X-minute number of people with this drug, so many of them do well. But a lot of times then authors will come back with, but it was clinically significant. It's only with the larger data set that you start to recognize that it all just averaged out,. That's why we do big studies and why we hopefully don't stop them at early stages.
