The name hagar means flight, or to flee. It's interesting she was running away from sarah, just like, as i said, sarah had been trying to run away from her. And when she dealt hardly with her, hagar fled from face. In other words, god also knows your responsibilities, the ones you are running from. Whence camest thou and whither wilt thou go? God's questions to adam in the garden, as he when he was hiding. According to genesis, it's where art thou and according to moses,. it's where goest thou? Very similar here, hagar, what's your past and what's your future?
