Is It OK to Be So Angerous at God?

When you're nine years old, you have trouble even understanding what you're going through. He's had time to think about grief and the grieving process and observe it sort of externally. In one of his letters after Joy died, he wrote a letter of consolation to a friend who's lost his wife after many years of marriage. For me, it was like not getting a piece of cake, but for you, it must be like not having bread. And that very analogy shows a certain distancing from his grieving experience over the loss of Joy to his friend's grieving experience.
