Do People React Differently When They Speak German?
In any country in the world, people are always happy when you speak their language. But because the the british and americans have such a terrible reputation with languages, we find it surprising that almost no one has attempted to speak to us in english. Over 60 % of german speakers who need english for their job feel uncomfortable or even ashamed, speaking English. So there's a big incentive, even for a widely spoken language like german. And so people havea really havea x about their own language, and feel ashamed sometimes speaking which is terrible.
