The Art Museum in Europe During World War II
Hitler had plans for a gigantic museum that was to house every masterpiece in the world, which is kind of staggering and mind boggling. The germans really conscripted lots of art professionals. They pulled art historians like myself out of the classroom to get involved in this effort. And you know, the notses either stole or attempted to steal every known painting by leonardo devenci. In some cases, luckily, they didn't.
