The current sesame workshop recognized that there's a need to reinforce this idea that people are seen, people are understood. So it's not just asian american kids watching at home and saying, we felt seen. It's also no asian American Americans learning about a culture and not authorizing it, but welcoming it,. And not everyone loves it. There is an inherent byin when sesame street tries something that there wouldn't be if it was o any other cultural institution.
Big Bird got vaccinated, an Asian American Muppet moved in, and conservatives got really mad at Sesame Street.
