Shelley was born in London in 1797. She never knew her mother, who died soon after giving birth. In 1814, English poet Percy Shelley began regularly visiting William Godwin, Mary's father. They start having secret Tris in St. Pancras churchyard where Mary Wollstonecraft is buried. And this is a relevant detail because Victor Frankenstein's horrible dark arts involved grave robbing.
