The bible presents a cataclysm at the beginning of the of time, which is the emergence of self consciousness in human beings. That's really given cosmic significance. Now, you can dispense with that and say, well, you know, nothing that happens to human bei is of cosmic significance,. Because we're these short lived, you know, mould like entities that are like cancers on this tiny, little planet  in infinite space....
