All right, here's what FTD has on tap for you today. My colleague Ruel Mark Correct has teamed up again with Ray Takier at the Council on Foreign Relations for yet another insightful co-authored piece in the Wall Street Journal. The pair examine the possibility that the Islamic Republic of Iran may view the current lame duck period before Trump returns to office as an ideal window to rapidly accelerate its nuclear ambitions. As a result, Israel's window of opportunity to deal some fatal blows to Iran's nuclear program may be closing fast. Those air defenses are down. There's a clear path to a strike. Will Israel pull the trigger? We'll find out. My colleague Seth Frantzman has penned a piece in FDD's Long War Journal examining how attempts to smuggle weapons into Gaza are complicating Israel's efforts to increase humanitarian aid to the coastal enclave. The smuggling underscores the significant challenges Israel faces in its attempts to deliver aid to Gaza's civilians while simultaneously preventing terrorists from exploiting these efforts for their own malicious purposes. This has been a problem for a long time, but it's even more thorny with Israel's war efforts under constant scrutiny. Finally, check out FDD senior advisor Rich Goldberg's piece in the New York Post from yesterday lauding the appointment of Congresswoman Elise Stefanik as ambassador to the United Nations. As the head of our program on international organizations, Rich lays out an agenda for the incoming ambassador to consider, including ways to target rogue regimes that are exploiting the UN and rotten UN agencies paid for by American taxpayers. Those have to go. They're probably not for long. Come January, we're going to, I think, see a long overdue shift in tone and action from US diplomats at Turtle Bay. That's it for today. We hope you'll join us again for another episode of the FDD Morning Brief on Friday. We're going to continue to track the war and the new Trump appointments and anything else we think you might want to know. Thanks for tuning in. I'm Jonathan Schanzer signing off for FDD.
