i think i've told this story previously on the podcass episode, but it is one that has stuck with me. When i was teaching first grade here in panama, it was at an i b school and international backaloreate school. And an i b schools we do a lot more semitive assessments through acting, through role play, through presentations,. Through research projects, through group work, over paper pencil tests. We did a whole two months study, indept study, on animal adaptations and their habitats with first graters.
