A lack of sleep is associated with a high risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and stroke. There are also links between insufficient sleep and certain forms of cancer. When we lose just one hour of sleep in the spring, there seems to be a 24% increase in relative heart attack risk - which stuns me.
