The Evolution of Populations

For humans it's probably most meaningful in the biological sense to talk about the world population because there's a substantial degree of obviously travel between different parts of the world. Next level of populations is communities. A community is a group of interacting populations of organisms sharing a single environment. The next level above communities are ecosystems. This is all the non-living physical components of the environment with which the organisms interact. So that's the air, the soil, the water, the sunlight and so on.
