The Role of Impulsivity in Addiction
The idea of cravings where there's this feeling of need for the drug just to maintain normalcy. To me that sort of fits with this impulsive to compulsive spectrum. And I guess probably the peaky comment would be that a lot of those processes could be explained just based on basic learning mechanisms. So an alteration in reward learning, so that expectation that you steal even in the back of your mind that maybe it's not possible. The system is kind of telling you that maybe if you take it, there's going to be that type of effect that you're looking for.
