When I started, NL frameworks were the binary installs like you had to install from source and the documentation was pretty sketchy. And they were written in all kinds of languages. By the time I started working at Fair, there were 15 machine learning framework that were trying to differentiate themselves with like X or Y or Z. That's totally understandable. You had something that was really high leverage to work on outside of that.
