How Important Is It to Find Your Thing?

In sixth grade, I did wheel as my elective and that was computer science, drama, art. In seventh grade, it became like a bigger deal to me and I noticed like this is my thing. It's always good to have eclectic friends where you don't always like the same thing but when you're in something that everyone likes, then you almost feel like left out. How important is it to find your thing? This is a thing that I want to transition into because sports, you went and did it and you had some fun, but you never really jumped up and down about it.
