Summer has officially ended in North America but as we all know it doesn't need to be summer for a patient to come in with heat stroke. Heat stroke is defined as an elevated temperature that results from the failure to handle intrinsic and extrinsic heat generation. The most important thing that we need to do for these patients is immediate cooling.
