The Coronado Operation: A Brief History
In the second half of 1967, the MRF conducted a series of operations called Coronado in honor of the facilities there in Southern California. They would generally find a point on a main river for an anchorage and then load the troops aboard Tango boats. But when the time came for them to conduct a landing, suddenly you would have a sort of mini G-day where these boats would be steaming up rivers right face or left face and head for the shore.
