Dare was a popular drug prevention program in the 80s and 90s. The idea that drugs were bad for kids led parents to send their children on dare trips, says author Julian Zelizer. But it's just 96% of teenagers don't do hardcore drugs like cocaine or heroin said Zelizer. Parents are not operating from remotely complete information when they're doing this kind of thing as an 'act of good', he adds.
