The Aphode Atones for Idolatry
Each string is comprised of one strand of gold and then six strands of either blue wool or scarlet wool or purple wool. That's going to create a 28 strand yarn that's going to be used to make this garment. Now, it is interesting that the talma tells us that the aphode atones for sins sin. Does the apho atone for the sin of idolatry? Maybe the answer of why the apho corresponds to idolatry is that the shoham stones, they sit on the shoulders, and they kind of look like a yoke.
