How to Cope With Trauma
A hundred thousands of people each year endure disasters and many come away with emotional wounding that leaves its imprint on the brain. The neural basis of these memories appears to be altercations to the chemistry of the brain which sets in motion an overwhelming terror. Trauma can alter brain functionately in the prefrontal cortex which is your thinking center it also can affect your anterior cingulate cortex and the amygdala known as the fear center. You know approximately 50% of the population of PTSD will experience a traumatic event at some point in our life.
