Stagflation is wheat growth at the same time as persistently high inflation. Growth is still reasonable, but not great growth and inflation's high. So yeah, kind of stagation inflation. And is it good for gold because it kind of traps the central bank? They don't know whether to raise interest rates to tackle inflation or to cut them to tackle the wheat growth. The thing is interest rates, they're not very high when you get stagflation - certainly at the long end of the curve.
