Can the Quick Access Recorder Survive an Aircraft Accident?
Investigation is done by the department for transports air accidents investigation branch. The quick acces recorder can give additional information beyond what the flight data recorder gets. It's not required by a civil aviation authority on commercial flights and it's not designed to survive an accident. All all the recorders confirm what the crew told the investigators, which was the engines had not responded when the throttles were advanced during final approach.
