The Risks of Acquiring a Permian Company

I heard that there's a Wall Street Journal story about ExxonMobil engaging in preliminary talks with Pioneer, which makes sense. I think Hess is a potential target or a big Permian company like Devin, Pioneer, some of these other companies out there. Like what all the energy majors is either you want an energy major or a company that operates primarily in America. If you're just picking one country to invest in America's the only real serious game of town.
