Introduction

Professor Ed Copeland is a theoretical physicist at the University of Nottingham. He grew up in Huddersfield, where rugby league began and Harold Wilson was born. As a child he spent his time on construction sites playing football with friends. Today he tells us how doing high school mathematics helped him through a health scare later in life.
