New Orleans Art Pottery

New Orleans art pottery was a short lived outfit that made utilitarian but beautiful pots like this one in the late 1880s and early 1890s. In New Orleans in 1884 there was an incredible World's Fair, the Cotton Centennial which included these very popular art classes for the public organized by Tulane. Back around the turn of the 20th century these things were meant to be used but today they can be very collectible. So are these something that people should still put flowers in or should they just be for the beauty of them? They're there for the Beauty of them.
