Shame is an emotion where many people want to run and hide. Studies have shown kids who engage in bullying, or this mean girl phenomenon, the picking, the teasing, are suffering from feelings of deep inadequacy and shame. We can help our kids learn how to counteract those voices in their head. And then use yourself as an example. Once you've shared something that you felt shame about, tell your kids how you counteract that in your head. So lastly, what does shame look like in kids? What does it look like when we see it in our kids?
