Why Did Caesar's Killings Take Place?
Some 60 disillusioned senators, both former friends and foes of caesar alike, had come together in a plot to assassinate julius caesar. The conspirators wanted to kill caesar somewhere where they could get close to the dictator without ing to deal with his bodyguard. With these thoughts in mind, they opted to kill ca Caesar at a senate meeting. This would give them several advantages: First, the conspirators could get closeto caesar without having to worry about his bodyguards,. Second, they could hide their daggers within the great folds of their togus. And third, the meeting would take place in a religious space where the conspirator could portray themselves as tyrant
