Dylan: She seemed to divide these things into two sorts, roughly speaking a kind of causal chain of aughts. And then you have a gap that you can't explain except by having a judgment of value. So the way that gets causal would be something like whether the gardener should pump the water is a judgment that he's going to have to make based on what's reasonable. But it's the making of that judgment and following through on it that contributes to his flourishing.
