i'm guilty of thinking, if there's a communication that i need to do, i'll go straight in with it. Different communication channels digirally imply different rules. For example, when you send a text, it's better to signal that something is time sensitive. You want to get straight to the point, instead of dear erca. When my father sends me text messages, they always start with dear erica and end with leve dad. And he hasn't quite, you know, accustomed to the rules that a text is not the same as a hand written letter.
