Is the Church Still Hitting and Deceiving People?

Is there an opening need for a more up dated assessment of the magnitude of mormon disaffection, numbers and reasons for those questioning departing the church, et cetera? To day? I'd love to see that kind of data. And i guarant there's no way in hell the church is going to release it. Why not?
