The Greens, Turn to Populism to Win
Butler accuses greens of using populous tactics to oust her from seat. She was on course to become australia's new environment minister until the greens snatched her griffith electrate with a nine per cent swing. Butler says party, the greens, did not have the power to effect any change on aircraft noise if elected federally. But their campaign was a sign they have learned the populist lesson from rightwing movements overseas and of bringing them home.
