The Rule of Law in the West

In the liberal system, we have to come up with some kind of a system. The role of the government is to secure those rights. And they can't be secured if we allow criminals or monopolies to bulldoze them. When you have violated the law and thus violated somebody else's inalienable rights, you can be held to account for that by the law. But other than that, nobody has political authority.
