How to Stop Eating Hot Soup

When that hot soup touches your tongue, there's little nerve fibers in your tongue. And those send signals back up to your brain. Your brain gets those signals and says, whoa, danger. There's something wrong with the tongue. I'm going to generate this feeling of pain so we know to stop eating the soup. It's protecting you from burning yourself further. Pain is a danger signal and it's supposed to protect you from damaging your body. But sometimes your brain makes a mistake.
