The Importance of Faith in History
I think that only someone who is asking that question for the sake of constructing themselves or having some sense of becoming whole through asking that question could ask it for eight years and generate that archive. So very much, I think, you need different kinds of people in the profession. And we know that history remains one of those spaces that it's actually very, very, very difficult to get people from non English speaking backgrounds. That means that it remains incredibly, incredibly white. At the same time, that being able to ask questions that nobody else is asking.
