Sebastian Skoltz left Credit Suisse in 1996 to start his own tech investment bank. He says he was hesitant at first, but the prospect of building a great business with an "A-plus team" and high quality people made him want to do it again. At that time, there were no big platforms like Deutsche Bank or credit Swiss; you had to build from scratch. But now they're one of the key players in tech banking: underwriting, M&A are easier than IPO advisory.
