The iconoscope wasn't meant for recording video. This was a purely live style of imaging. The signal that came out of the tube with minimal massaging was the same signal that a standard television would read. To make a still image, the signal would have to be stored in some type of buffer which committed it to film. You could probably just point a normal camera at a TV and snap a photo at that point.
