How to Support an Open Mic

I would say it just depends on how deep your pockets are and how much stage time you really need. I don't think necessarily that there's a kickback from you buying food or you buying drinks at most venues. Most comics aren't getting any money from any venue. Any venue selling beer or selling food is going to get some kind of revenue, so they're trying to keep the lights on. It's not like something that was like, Oh, yeah, I'm also going to charge any comedian that comes in, you know, just to make sure I get my,. they're not getting most comedians aren't getting anything out of this.
