I think it does mean listening to them. I mean, I am just as if I was sitting down with a brother or sister in Christ, I would be curious to hear their own story of faith. If I'm sitting down with a friend who is Jewish or Muslim or Hindu, I want to hear not just what do Jews in general believe or what do Muslims in general believe, but I want to hear what they believe and I want to hear why they believe those things. You know, what are the pieces of their life that have shaped that? Where have their convictions come from? Where is the pain in their story? Where is the joy in their story that has pushed them in that direction? So I can understand them better. So I think asking really good questions of friends who hold different religious convictions is part of loving them. And then I think part of loving them is telling them about Jesus and not in a way that sidesteps his exclusive claims at a fascinating moment a few years ago. I was waiting to pick up my kids from school and I was chatting with a couple of the other mums there. And on this occasion, I was chatting with two mums who are sort of both white American-born secular ladies. And one of the women was commenting on the fact that there are a number of East African families at our school whose parents had immigrated here and the children were born and raised here. And she was saying, you know, I don't really know how to talk with these other mums from these these other parts of the world, you know, beyond saying, hi, how are you? I don't really kind of know what to talk about. And I said, oh, I talked to them about Jesus. And this woman looked at a slightly, I don't press. And she said, well, but some of them are Muslims. I said, yeah, actually, in my experience, well, a, most of them are Christians. And so they love talking about Jesus. B, when I talk to the Muslim mums, they're actually quite excited to find another person of faith to have a conversation with. In my experience, and not to say there aren't ways that we can talk to Muslims that do make them feel pushed down or marginalized or like, you know, disrespected and unloved for sure. That's there have been times when Christians have done that. But actually my experience with Muslim mums at our school has been that they're they're genuinely eager and open to having conversations about faith. And so I think a way to show love is to be engaging in those conversations too. Does

How can we hold on to assurance of our faith? How can we discern the truth from a lie? How can we know that God loves us? In these three short letters, first, second, and third, John, the Apostle John reminds an early church facing division deception in doubt to hold fast what they know and to live like they believe it. And he reminds us today as well. Jin Wilkin has a new 10 session Bible study called Abide, journeying through the letters of first, second, and third, John. And she helps you see how 2,000 years later God's word calls to Christians and similar challenges to recall a great salvation into Abide in the truth. dLL5LIFEWAY.COM slash Abide to check out Jin Wilkin's new 10 session Bible study on first, second, and third, John called Abide check out at lifeway.com slash Abide. You know it was funny, aryn." I was about to tell a story not all too dissimilar from what we're talking about. So a number of years ago I had had a relationship with a local mosque and they invited me as they typically do during Ramadan, they'll do these iftar feast to break the fast. And one of those most mosques that I've been around will do one that's like a ecumenical. So they'll invite people from other traditions to come. And it's kind of like a feast of peace thing and they'll bring you there and they want you to talk about, they give you 10 minutes and they're like, hey, talk about fasting from your, like the perspective of your religion. And so I went there and I prayed a lot about it and I knew the Imam there or one of the imams. I was about to meet another one. And so I told him, I was like, friend, I have to let you know. I'm not going to use his name because I don't want to. I just maybe would not be wise to use his name. But the Imam, the mosque, they invited me. I said, I have a responsibility. I'm happy to come and talk about fasting from the Christian tradition. I have to talk about the gospel. Yeah. And he was like, I wouldn't ask you if I didn't know that that was a part of it. I know what you have to say. It's totally fine. I was like, I just don't want to be dismissive or disrespectful. I will. I'm going to have to share the gospel in this moment, like full stop. And he was like, I understand. I knew that when I invited you. So I go there and you know, there's a couple of hundred people there.

- Isn’t it arrogant to say there is only one true religion?
- When we say Christianity is exclusive and that Jesus is the only way, are we saying that there is no truth to be found in other religions?
