A family member of ours recently got accepted to a prestigious college where the cost is around $100,000 a year. By the time my son is 18, do you think these colleges will cost more than $500,000 to $700,000 for four years? So far, I have $32,000 and it's $529,000 each year but I also would prefer not to have a ridiculously overfunded 529 either if he ends up not using it.
