Shorts and the Greatest Hits of All Time
We're going through a period of time right now. Shorts down 60 to 70 % when it became clear that there was nothing they could stand upon, where became clear they were going for funding sources. What we love on the short side fundamentally is businesses and industries that are completely misperceived. When the glass goes from basically half full to half empty, it's the same business. The valuations are step functions. And so if you look at companies that claim that they're a high tech company, but really they're a sub prime lender and drag,. There's a long, long way down from ten times revenues to one times tangible book and even growth companies can fit that mode.
