The Importance of Community in the Writing Process
Kelly Wallace: I'm a writer who actually hates writing. And so the only way I can write is with a community, even to this damn and I just finished my fourth novel. So that's why I liked Nano and I think I liked pitch wars is that I was not alone doing it because it can be very solitary. She says she co-founded Crime Matters of Color alongside Walter Mosley and Gigi Pandian in order to help others going through some similar circumstances. The group also has its own Facebook page where members are able to share their experiences about being a person of color in publishing.Wallace: We don't go in the same circle as like one of the biggest authors
