I think it's possible for us to signal the harms and really focus on the harms, but to do so, whilst not annexing this as a kind of horrifying, fully automated autonomous machine. I'm deeply horrified by some deployments where they are directly designed to foreclose alternative readings. So, we need to understand the full implications of that, which is not only what is the impact on politics or on society, but actually how might some of the ways we think about fundamentals like democracy be reinterpreted through the lens of deep learning?
