Acute Covid - Is There a Brain Injury?

The clinical emori scans in these patients are almost invariably normal. So the good news is that if there is some tiny amount of brain injury during acute covid it's not leaving major footprints telling us that there's been severe damage. The downside isn't that it's also very frustrating for patients who are having symptoms and feeling that they're having challenges where they can't see an explanation for it. But we are certainly committed to trying to study individuals and tryo help them figure out what may be determining their response to covid so that we can develop tools and treatments to make it better.
